VOLUME FOUR

Join us as we delve into the reunion edition of The Young Artists Event Volume One. In collaboration with Nieuw Vide, we curated a blend of works from six participants: Thomas Fontein, Fenna Witkamp, Milo van Sluis, Sam Olson, Sanne Daniëlle, and Eva Zain van der Horst. These artists, who were part of YAE Volume One 2022, showcased not only their remarkable growth but also the artistic signatures they have developed since then. The exhibition Spreading Seeds; Ground for Growth was shown 4th - 24th of November 2024 at Nieuwe Vide Haarlem during the annual art route Kunstlijn.

AFTERMOVIE OPENING 4TH OF NOVEMBER AT NIEUWE VIDE HAARLEM DURING THE EXHIBITION SPREADING SEEDS GROUND FOR GROWTH

Shortly after the fourth edition, we were approached by STAD Haarlem to participate in their group exhibition at Smedestraat in Haarlem. This was a great opportunity for us to expand YAE Volume 4 and let it breathe in a new environment with a different audience. Unfortunately, we were unable to showcase all six artists.

However, Thomas Fontein, Fenna Witkamp, Milo van Sluis, and Eva Zain van der Horst proudly presented their work.

VOLUME THREE

April 2024 we showcased works from nine artists selected by the YAE team: Rachel Hoefman, Fé Baan, Shannon van Leeuwen, Joris Janssen, Rosa ‘t Hart, Gabriel Rouffié, Tom de Vries, Thu Do, Nadia Dattatreya. Several young creators from different states applied to our open call and the selected ones had the chance to exhibit their work at de Schuur in Haarlem during the annual art route Over de Burg en Terug.

VOLUME TWO

During the summer of 2022 we cooperated with the Instituto Municipal de Cultura y Educación Torreón. With the amazing help of this cultural organization, Eva Zain van der Horst, as the head of YAE, got the opportunity to make The Young Artists Event a bigger brand and extend beyond borders. We secured several interviews, daily radio promotions for the second event, and a page in the newspaper. The second event was again a great success.

VOLUME ONE

The idea for the Young Artists exhibition started in April 2022, driven by a need to be seen, heard, respected, and understood. Eva often surrounded herself with passionate people who inspired her own art. Wanting to bring everyone together, she turned this vision into reality, and YAE was born. The first edition grew out of friendships and mutual respect, making Eva realize it was more than a one-time event. “I’ve never had such a strong gut feeling—like this is exactly what I’m meant to do,” she said.

The 16 Volume One participants: Milo van Sluis, Liam Minnebo, Esmee Brouwer, Fenna Witkamp, Jacob Umbgrove, Isa Eijck, Sam Olson, Sanne Daniëlle, Thom Holt, Valerie Lentze, Jerom Blankendaal, Marijn Pelsma, Paulo di Gioa, Thomas Fontein, Eva Zain van der Horst
